The Mustad Dentanato series is a two-hook tandem system specifically designed for slow trolling and rigging with natural bait, particularly in the context of Mediterranean fishing. Both hooks maintain the same functional geometry, but with variations designed to optimize their position: the top hook (Dentanato Top) features an upward-facing eye to ensure the ideal angle for snelling, while the bottom hook (Dentanato Bottom) has a straight eye, allowing for perfect vertical alignment when mounted at the end of a squid rig. To protect the terminal and increase durability, the welded eye is coated with a red epoxy resin applied strategically at the brazing point. The point incorporates AlphaPoint® 4.8 technology, the latest evolution in Mustad's Opti-Angle™ series: an ultra-thin and “sticky-sharp” point designed for immediate penetration and maximum efficiency when setting the hook. The Titan Steel coating completes the hook with over 500 hours of saltwater corrosion resistance, ranking it just behind stainless steel in terms of durability.
